| Don't change the income system. It's part of the reason the map is so popular. Don't change it. It's the only system thats actually interesting and punishes rapid cash-grabbing. If you do anything, make it so that the first waves spawn faster, to give a greater bonus to those that build early and ignore the first gas to do so. If you want to do anything, just display next to the mineral count the current income percentage for each player so they don't have to calculate it. . | |

. I realise after writing this that sometimes the desire to make a change is irresistable for most developers. One way you can keep the same system but remove the wait would be that when a player makes a gas, the enemy team all get a lump sum of 50*GAS minerals to spent immedately. This basically cuts out the "Time" aspect for the enemy to profit from your delay (instead, they profit imediately, but are "losing" over time). This might better create a back-and-forth game, as the optimal time to get gas will always be when your winning (and thus get your gas+middle bonus until they use the bonus money to push you back).

| Maybe a thing that'd punish cash grabbing more, if you'd give extra cost/100 % income for units you have bought.
Or for unit kills (1 mineral per food or something), so the more effective armies are rewarded.
